What we collect

The wheel runs inside your browser, so the choices you type and the wheels you build stay on your device unless you choose to share them by copying a link. We do not require an account, and we do not ask for your name, phone number, or address to use the site.

Like most websites, our host records standard server log data when a page is requested. That includes your IP address, browser type, internet service provider, referring and exit pages, the time of the visit, and roughly which country the request came from. This information is used to keep the site healthy, spot abuse, understand which wheels are popular, and improve the experience. It is not tied to your name or any personal profile.

Cookies and similar technologies

A cookie is a tiny text file a website can store in your browser to remember settings between visits. Wheel Decide uses cookies and similar browser storage for a few simple jobs: remembering your theme choice (light or dark), keeping your language selection, and letting our analytics and advertising partners recognise a repeat visitor.

You can clear or block cookies any time from your browser settings. Every major browser has this control under a name like “Privacy,” “Cookies,” or “Site data.” Blocking cookies will not stop the wheels from spinning, but it may reset your preferences and log you out of features that need them.

Google Analytics (GA4)

We use Google Analytics 4 to see how many people visit each wheel, how they got here, and which pages need work. Analytics runs with IP anonymisation turned on, which means Google shortens your IP address before it is stored so it cannot be traced back to you. We never use analytics to build a personal profile of you.

If you would rather not be counted, you can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or turn on your browser’s “Do Not Track” setting.

Advertising partners

Wheel Decide works with CMI Marketing, Inc., d/b/a CafeMedia (now operating as Raptive) to show advertising on the site. CafeMedia and its partners may use cookies, JavaScript, and web beacons to measure ad performance and, in some regions, to personalise the ads you see. Google is one of the vendors used through this ad network. Google may set a cookie known as the DART cookie to serve ads based on your visits to this site and others. You can review or opt out of personalised Google ads at Google Ads Settings.

Third-party ad servers set their own cookies directly in your browser and automatically receive your IP address when their ad or beacon loads. We do not control those cookies or the data they collect. Children under 13

Wheel Decide is safe for classrooms and family use, but the site is not aimed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has shared personal information with us, please write to support@wheel-decide.com and we will remove it promptly.

Your rights (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA)

Depending on where you live, you have rights over the personal information we hold about you. Wheel Decide acts as the data controller for basic site data (server logs, preferences). Our analytics and advertising partners act as independent controllers or joint controllers for the data described in their own policies linked on this page.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or a similar jurisdiction, you can ask us to:

• Confirm what personal information we hold about you and receive a copy (right of access).
• Correct information that is wrong or incomplete (right to rectification).
• Delete information we no longer need (right to erasure).
• Restrict or object to certain uses of your information.
• Receive a portable copy of information you provided (right to portability).
• Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority — for example the ICO in the UK or your national supervisor in the EEA.

If you are a California resident (CCPA / CPRA), you have the right to know what personal information is collected about you, request its deletion or correction, and opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not sell personal information for money. Some ad-related cookie activity by our advertising partners may qualify as “sharing” under CPRA; you can opt out by using the “Your Privacy Choices” or “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link served by our consent tool, or by the industry opt-out links in the next section. You also have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.

To exercise any right, email support@wheel-decide.com with the subject “Privacy request” and tell us what you would like us to do. We reply within 30 days and may need to verify your identity to protect your data.

Your choices

You can decline analytics with the Google opt-out tool above, disable ad personalisation at youradchoices.com, and clear or block cookies from your browser at any time. You can also switch on your browser’s Do Not Track flag, which we honour where supported.

Online activities only

This policy covers what happens on wheel-decide.com. It does not cover information collected offline or through channels we do not run. Links from our pages may take you to other websites; those sites have their own privacy policies which we do not control.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time as the site grows or as the rules change. When we do, we will refresh the “Last updated” date at the top. If a change is significant, we will call it out on the homepage for a short window.
